In history, when did men's hair become shorter?
After the Revolution of 1911, people cut off their braids to commemorate the overthrow of the Qing government. In ancient times, there was a concept that "filial piety begins with the skin, and parents dare not harm it". So people don't cut their hair when they are adults. They usually tie it up until they die. After the Qing Dynasty entered the customs, men were forced to braid their hair, so men began to shave their heads at the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
