How many years did Dharma live in history?
According to historical records, the founder of Dharma lived for 150 years and died in 536 AD.

But there are many theories about the cause of his death, and the most powerful one is that Dharma was poisoned six times because of jealousy.

Second, him? Just going west? After the death of Dharma, Emperor Wu Liang, who always respected him, personally erected a monument for him and regretted his departure.

What is the full name of the founder of Dharma? Founder of dharma initiative? He is the third son of South Indian Wang Xiangzhi. Wang Xiangzhi is a very devout Buddhist because he is extremely devout to Buddhism.

Therefore, Dharma was instilled with Buddhist ideas at an early age and gradually became a believer and lover of Buddhism. He has been able to browse Buddhist scriptures since he was a child, and he also has his own incisive opinions when communicating with others.

Later, under the inspiration of the Buddhist master Prajna Paramita, he came to China to preach Buddhism. Although his master died 67 years ago, he still followed his teacher's orders and crossed the ocean. It took him three years to reach the South China Sea in China.

At this time, it happened that in the seventh year of Wu Liangping, that is, in 526, after Dharma came to the South China Sea, he was invited to Nanjing by Wu Liang the next year.

But in the end, Dharma turned to Luoyang because of his different views on Buddhism. In Luoyang City, Dharma walked on the street in front of Yongning Temple Pagoda, sightseeing while walking.

Suddenly sighed:? Now I am 150 years old and have traveled all over the world, but I have never seen such exquisite buildings. ? This sentence was later recorded in the history books, and the information that Dharma lived 150 years also came from this.

After that, Dharma moved into Shaolin Temple in Songshan Mountain, and took in a disciple Hui Ke who had his arm broken for the sake of Buddhism. After living in Songshan Shaolin Temple, the founder of Dharma went to Ding Lin Temple under Xiong 'er Mountain to preach Dharma. Finally, Liang Wudi Datong died two years ago at the age of 150.

After Dharma died, Wu Liang felt very sorry. To show his respect, he personally wrote an inscription for Dharma, buried Dharma in Ding Lin Temple according to Buddhist rituals, and built Dharma Lingta and Dharma Hall for him to commemorate his creation of Zen Buddhism.

There were only two popular sayings about the death of Buddhism at that time. The first is that Dharma was jealous by Guangtong lawyer and Liu Sanzang, and secretly poisoned Dharma Master's vegetarian meal because of his tolerance and narrowness. Because of Dharma's intelligence and wisdom, he can detect it every time and easily avoid the poison.

It's a pity that when the two men were poisoned for the sixth time, Dharma thought that their fate in China had run out, so they ate vegetarian food while knowing that it was poisonous and sat down at the dinner table and died.

The second theory is that three years after the death of Bodhidharma, he was seen walking slowly with a shoe in his hand. This man is called Song Yun, and he was ordered to be an envoy to the Western Regions.

Seeing this behind the scenes, he went over and talked with the founder of Dharma. Father Dharma said that he was going to the Western Heaven, and for this reason, he chose to die. After Song Yun came back, he told everyone about it. So the monks decided to open his coffin and have a look.

When the coffin was opened, the original Dharma ancestor was gone, but now the coffin is empty except for a shoe, and all the monks and civil servants present are amazed.

When the Emperor of the Northern Wei Dynasty saw it, he was not only greatly surprised, but also directly ordered people to take out the leather shoes in the coffin and put them in Shaolin Temple for support. Later, this shoe was stolen to Huayan Temple in Wutai Mountain.

Besides the mystery of Dharma's death, there are many legends about him, and his life can be said to be legendary.

One of them is called. Cross the river with reeds? It is said that Father Dharma once thought about the Yangtze River. Without waiting for the boat to come, he folded a reed on the river bank, stood on it, and then crossed the Yangtze River.

This legend has been passed down to this day, and even in Luchang Temple, a special one was built for the founder of Dharma. Reed hall? Is it to commemorate the existence of Buddhism? Cross the river with reeds? Later, he visited Luchang Temple and established it.

Anyway, judging from so many records about the founder of Dharma in history books, he should be real, but there is still great controversy about his age.

How old did dharma live? This issue is still inconclusive, but most of the statements are based on the age of 150, but obviously this statement is very controversial.
