First, what is the real prosperity of Kanggan?
Kanggan, one of the four prosperous times recognized in history, is in a period of rapid decline. It inherited feudalism and corruption in the previous period, but there was no political and scientific progress. During the Qianlong period, China welcomed the first British delegation to China. Before the delegation came to the Qing Dynasty, it was once considered as the richest country.
When they came to China, they found that it was not what they expected. They witnessed the people's greedy scramble for their used tea dregs to soak in water, and there was a servile China on board to serve tea and water for the British. Therefore, after witnessing the living conditions of the bottom people, the British thought that the real Kanggan era was poor as a whole and the Qing Dynasty was rapidly declining. Wealth is its remaining skin, and the gap between the working people at the bottom and the western countries is getting farther and farther.
Second, delete history for political reasons.
It is not the first time that history has been deleted from textbooks. At the same time, the history presented in textbooks is not the whole history of China. The purpose of textbooks is to spur and remind middle school students who are not fully aware of it. Therefore, politics needs history to spread the meaning of education. Once a certain period of history has no educational significance, there will be more representative historical substitutes.
Third, sober cognition.
The purpose of deleting history is to make middle school students who are receiving information more aware of the changes of the times, face up to China's past corruption and backwardness, and blindly evaluate Kanggan's prosperous times is to a great extent overconfident in history and misleading students. It is an over-interpretation of the emperor and a misleading of the future to regard an era when the literary inquisition prevailed and the Han people suffered as a prosperous time. An era when only bureaucrats are rich and the people are lifeless is not enough to be called a prosperous time.
