In the first month of 95 1 year, a week after Guo Cheng proclaimed himself emperor, Liu Yun, the nephew of Emperor Gaozu, was abolished as Xiangyin Gong and was killed soon. Liu Chongtuan, the younger brother of Emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty, and Guo Wei fought for power and profit for a long time. Seeing that Guo Cheng killed Liu Yun and seized power, he claimed to be the emperor. On February 24th, 95 1 year (the 15th day of the first month in the 4th year of Ganyou in the later Han Dynasty), he was renamed Min and proclaimed himself emperor in Jinyang (now Taiyuan). Han, the country name, occupies Hedong * * *, Fen, Xin, Dai and other states 12, and is also the only country among the ten northern countries. Historically known as the Northern Han Dynasty, Liu Chong was the ancestor of the Northern Han Dynasty. Liu Chong called the Khitan monarch "nephew", so he called it "nephew emperor". He colluded with the Khitans and attacked Jinzhou. With the support of the Khitans, he went south again and again, and was later defeated by Zhou Shizong.

It was wiped out by the Northern Song Dynasty in 979.
