The Eight Diagrams originated from innate gossip created by Fuxi (probably more than 7000 years ago), and used the combination of Yin and Yang to explain the eight most primitive substances in heaven and earth. Later, Taoism regarded Fuxi as a god. The acquired gossip comes from Zhou Wenwang, and the acquired gossip is different from Fuxi innate gossip. Its meaning remains unchanged. It was not until Confucius founded Confucianism that Zhou Wenwang's Book of Changes was included in the Confucian classics (that is, Confucian textbooks). Taoism in Han Dynasty created countless tricks from Yin and Yang, Eight Diagrams and Five Elements in the Book of Changes. The eight basic figures used in Zhouyi, also known as Eight Diagrams, are composed of "-"and "-"symbols. The so-called divination is actually a means for ancient working people to understand the seasons and record the labor laws by measuring the position of the sun. The word "Bu" on the right side of the hexagram is pictographic, indicating that the pole stands on the ground and the point on the right is the shadow of the sun. The word "Gui" to the left of the word "Gua" is a ruler used to measure the length and position of the shadow. Through long-term measurement, the working people have mastered various seasonal laws of spring ploughing and autumn harvest.
