What is the history of Angkor Wat?
Angkor wat is the largest building in Angkor ruins. Suriye Pomo II of Angkor Dynasty started construction after he ascended the throne in113, and it took about 30 years to complete. In Khmer, Angkor Wat means "the city of temples". It consists of a trench with a length of about 4.5 kilometers and a width of 190 meters, a west roadway with a length of 540 meters, a triple corridor and five minarets centered on a 65-meter-high central minaret. It is not only spectacular in appearance, but also has achievements beyond the times in architectural design and construction technology. The central minaret is dedicated to the statue of Shnuraya, a combination of the king and Vishnu, which means deifying the king. The cloister, which is thousands of meters long, is decorated with exquisite reliefs. The theme is all Indian mythology.
