1952 With the help of experts from the former Soviet Union, the course of "Economics, Organization and Planning of Machinery Manufacturing Enterprises" was offered in all technical majors of the school, and demonstration teaching of engineering economy education was carried out in national engineering colleges and universities; 1954 has established two majors: economics, organization and planning of machinery manufacturing enterprises and economics, and organization and planning of electric power enterprises. 1955 established the department of engineering economics, which is the first department of engineering economics in China. While training undergraduates and postgraduates, the Department of Engineering Economics also held several classes for teachers and cadres entrusted by the Ministry of Education and relevant ministries and commissions, which trained a large number of management teachers for colleges and universities across the country and a large number of management cadres for relevant ministries and commissions, making Harbin Institute of Technology the cradle of engineering economic education in China and making important contributions to the popularization and development of management education in China. 1978 was renamed "Management Engineering Department". 1984 In August, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the School of Management of Harbin Institute of Technology was established. It was one of the first four schools of management established in China, and was awarded the doctorate in management engineering by 1986. Harbin Jianzhu University established "Building Management Engineering" and "Building Management Engineering Department" on 1980, which is one of the earliest universities in China to carry out undergraduate education in building management engineering and cultivate master students majoring in building economics and management. 1993 became the only authorized unit of doctoral degree in building economics and management in China. 1999 established the School of Management on the basis of the Department of Building Management Engineering. In June 2000, the former Harbin Institute of Technology and the former Harbin Jianzhu University merged, and the two schools of management merged to form a new "Harbin Institute of Technology School of Management". The School of Management has three doctoral degree awarding points and postdoctoral mobile stations, including management science and engineering, technical economy and management, and enterprise management, among which management science and engineering (first-class discipline) is a national key discipline, ranking third in the comprehensive level evaluation of national first-class disciplines in 2002. The college has nine master's degree awarding points, including management science and engineering, enterprise management, technical economy and management, accounting, administrative management, international trade, land resource management, educational economy and management, and finance. It is one of the first pilot institutions in China to train MBA, EMBA and MPA, and has three master's degree awarding points in engineering project management, industrial engineering and logistics engineering. The college consists of management science and engineering department, architecture and real estate department, business administration department, finance and trade department, accounting department and public administration department, with ten undergraduate majors including information management and information system, engineering management, business administration, marketing, tourism management, finance, international economy and trade, accounting, financial management and e-commerce. There are fourteen research institutes and research centers, including Management Science Institute, Information Management and Information System Institute, Systems Engineering Institute, Technical Economy and Management Research Center and Traffic Engineering Research Center. There are three editorial departments, which officially publish the comprehensive academic journals Management (formerly known as Decision Reference), journal of public management and Modernization of Building Management.
