Yan State, after the destruction of the Shang Dynasty, was sealed to the imperial clan, which is in the north-central part of Beijing and Hebei today (the Zhou Dynasty was destroyed and sealed as Beiyan). The capital of Yan State is Ji (located at the riverside of Fangshan District, Beijing).
