1990 population is 523600. There are Manchu, Han, Hui, Mongolian, Xibe, Tibetan, Korean, Zhuang, Miao, Daur, Bai and other ethnic groups and Japanese expatriates. Area 1782 km2. Leian County was established in the Western Han Dynasty, and Changli County belonged to the Wei, Jin and Northern Dynasties.
