Lyu3 bu4 is famous for his bravery, so-called "flying general", and sometimes there is the saying that "Lyu3 bu4 is among the people and the red rabbit is among the horses". In history, Lyu3 bu4 was only used by individuals, which led to the defection of subordinates. But Lu Bu was not captured by his men, but surrendered. Because there was an idea of "surrender without killing" at that time, Lu Bu thought that as long as he surrendered, he could not die.
But unexpectedly, because of Liu Bei's words, Cao Cao still brutally killed Lu Bu. In the third year of Jian 'an (198), after Lu Bu sent generals to defeat Liu Bei and Xia Houdun, Cao Cao personally pacified Lu Bu and flooded Pi County. Lu Bu was betrayed by his subordinates and was captured and executed in Gui You in December (1February 7, 1999).

In the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Lu Bu is called the first valiant soldier in the Three Kingdoms. Lu Bu was Ding Yuan's adopted son when he appeared. Because Ding Yuan opposed Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu defeated Dong Zhuo for a period of time, but later he was bought by Su Li with a red hare. Tian Fang painted a halberd and went to Dong Zhuo to kill Ding Yuan and became a father and son with Dong Zhuo, so he was called a slave of the three surnames by Zhang Fei.
When the 18th Route Warlords jointly crusaded against Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu fought Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei in front of Hulao Pass, but failed. Wang Yun lured Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu with the story of Diusim, and used a series of tricks to make Lu Bu kill Dong Zhuo. Later defeated by Li Jue and Guo Si, he retreated from Chang 'an. When Cao Cao attacked Tao Qian in Xuzhou, he captured Puyang with Chen Gong and Zhang Miao, and was defeated by Cao Cao and attached to Xuzhou Liu Bei.
Liu Bei attacked Xuzhou when he was at war with Yuan Shu. In the end, Liu Bei and Cao Cao jointly attacked Lu Bu, and Lu Bu was mutinied by his subordinates and defeated. He begged Liu Bei not to be killed.
