Cultivating and developing students' personalized elective course is a term in the reform of new curriculum standards and a course type in the adjustment of curriculum structure. Contrary to the elective course, it is a compulsory course.
In 2004, the Ministry of Education promulgated the curriculum standards of all subjects in ordinary senior high schools, which clearly stipulated the elective courses of all subjects. Later, in 20 16, the Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools (Draft for Comment) was promulgated, which was also a revision of the Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools promulgated in 2004.
