Yili normal university is located in Yili, south of the Great Wall. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Jiangsu Province and the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
For a long time, the school has fully implemented the party's education policy, adhered to the school purpose of "educating people with Populus euphratica spirit and serving the prosperity of Xinjiang", rooted in the frontier for more than 70 years, and trained more than 60,000 talents for the society. According to incomplete statistics, 60% primary and secondary school teachers in Yili and Altay regions graduated from our school.
It has provided intellectual support and talent guarantee for regional economic development, social stability, national unity and border defense consolidation, especially made positive contributions to the basic education in the border areas, and is known as the "cradle of talents at the foot of Tianshan Mountain and a famous educational school along the Ili River".
Historical evolution:
The school was formerly known as Xinjiang Ili College, which was founded in 1948. In 1950, all other majors of the school were merged into Xinjiang College (the predecessor of Xinjiang University). In 1953, it was renamed Ili Normal School. In 1980, it was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college with the approval of the State Council, and was named yili normal university. 20 18 12, renamed yili normal university with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
Orientation of running a school:
After the school was renamed as a university, according to the requirements of the Ministry of Education for our school to "focus on normal education and cultivate applied, technical and skilled compound talents", our school has established the development goal of building a new era high-level normal university that takes root in the front line and serves the forefront, and "cultivating good teachers welcomed by kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and good seedlings for innovative research".

There are 16 teaching units, 54 undergraduate majors and 10 disciplines. There are 8 authorized points for master's degrees in first-class disciplines and 6 authorized points for professional master's degrees, covering 49 two disciplines, and 3 disciplines are key disciplines in the autonomous region.
