As the saying goes, there is paradise in the world and Suzhou and Hangzhou in the world. In Suzhou, there are good scenery everywhere, just like a landscape painting in the Song Dynasty. Natural integration, the trip will not be chaotic. For Mudu, we are uninvited new friends. For us, Mudu is an old friend who has long wanted to know.
People who have never been to Mudu may not know much about its geographical location and significance. Mudu is an ancient water town of the same age as Suzhou, with a history of more than 2,500 years. There is also a beautiful legend about it. According to legend, at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, Fu Cha, the king of Wu, built a pavilion at the top of Lingyan Mountain and added a Gusutai. As a result, a steady stream of building timber blocked the river port at the foot of the mountain, and "the building blocks were blocked", hence the name Mudu. Mudu is a veritable gateway to Taihu Lake. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was the most prosperous place in western Suzhou.
The original meaning of Mudu is ditches and small canals, and it also refers to rivers. The name is a bit uncommon, a bit elegant, and a bit wet and poetic. You don't have to have many companions to come here. One or two people are enough. You need to wear a thin shirt, jeans, a sun hat and a backpack to take a leisurely walk in the spring when the grass grows and the warbler flies. This is an ideal state to visit Mudu.
My first impression of Mudu is very good, with flowing bridges, cornices and tiles, and rows of antique buildings. Water connects all directions of the town and outlines the outline of the water town. When the ship shakes, it becomes a part of the family.
Needless to say, I am also a foodie. Whenever you go to a place, you must try the local traditional snacks first. I don't think so. I can't touch the local bone marrow. In Shantang Street, one small shop after another is opened on the street, so you can walk into any one and taste it at will. Stubby old trees, women dressed in Chinese clothes, cloth signboards fluttering in the wind, and various cakes placed on the street are intertwined into a unique charm of mudu. Various pastry shops have not been passed down easily for thousands of years. Those names are also good, such as wooden hammer crisp, kudzu crisp and so on. As if listening to their words, lips and teeth will give off fragrance. I was attracted by a "Sanwei Su Wu" store, so I went over and bought two. Guess the host must like Lu Xun, so he borrowed the name of San Tan Ying Yue. Fried stinky tofu is a famous food, but the fragrant and smelly mixed taste scares me. A bowl of black rice, dark, will be slightly sweet if you dig it with a small spoon. Mudu is coming, and it is a delicious food not to be missed.
Mudu ranks first among the thirteen scenic spots in Taihu Lake Scenic Area. Although it is located in a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, it is good at gardens. As the only ancient garden town in China, there are more than 30 private gardens in Mudu in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and more than 0 gardens/kloc-0 have been preserved so far. Xu Shiyuan, a scholar in Mudu, used to live in Yin Hong Mountain House, which is far superior to other gardens in terms of "the beauty of mountains and rivers, the beauty of scenery and the victory of flowers and trees in the pool pavilion". Gan Long must visit this garden every time he goes to Mudu. The former residence garden of Qianlong, the longest-lived poet in China, was later owned by Yan, the richest man in Mudu, so it was called the garden. This is also a very good garden.
Walking into Yan Jia Garden, I have to admire the designer's creativity. The layout is dense and tortuous, with the combination of reality and reality. The local treatment is exquisite and elegant, deep and graceful, and it is worthy of being the "leader" of Suzhou local gardens. I feel that after seeing Yan Jia Gardens, I have a comprehensive understanding of the concept of Suzhou Gardens. Behind the small bridge are cloisters, waterside pavilions and terraces, where the atmosphere is abrupt, the depressions are affectionate, the wood carvings are exquisite, and the brick carvings are amazing, one step at a time, one yard at a time. Walking along the middle road, there are five main buildings, namely lobby, Yibin hall, Shangxian hall, Shiming building and overlooking the farmhouse building, each with its own architectural style. Two places to study, one is Youyu, and the other is Haitang. The former is located in a secluded place, facing a tall ancient magnolia tree, which is lush as ancient times. I'm a little shocked. Ancient, remote, empty and delicate, I like this place more and more when I go deep into Mudu. After the Moon Temple and the ancient stage, turn to Mudu Old Street. Most of the shops here are closed, very quiet, without the smell of business, the noise of pedestrians and the noise of modern society. People who love each other walk hand in hand in the old street for a while, and gradually realize that the years are stable, the world is quiet and beautiful, and the happiness of ordinary people is just that.
I like the stone bridges in Mudu. Some bridge opening are round, but these bridges are in Fang Zhengzhi. The weeping willows fluttered and walked on the stone bridge, wanting to hear Joan's voice. Standing on the bridge, white walls and spires, a stream of green water, looking at the Yanliu family, the world of mortals and the bustling tourists, I feel very independent. Standing on a small pavilion, I watched from a distance with red light. There are green trees and red flowers, and a boat carries several tourists. I came, I looked at them, and they looked at me. They smiled and said hello to each other. Or sitting on a boat and passing slowly under the bridge, will you hear a Suzhou Pingtan? The woman in ancient costume stood in front of the bridge to take pictures. How her dress matches the charm of the bridge. There is also a bridge, which is actually covered with lush green vines. The bridge is gone. What you see is a rattan bridge.
Boats moored, ancient garden gates, deep alleys, white walls and tiles, high-hanging arch bridges and quiet streams, I was intoxicated by the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River.
