One of the three tidal bore in the world: qiantang bore.
Qiantang River is one of the three tidal bore in the world, which is caused by the centrifugal effect of celestial gravity and the earth's rotation, as well as the special topography of the bell mouth of Hangzhou Bay. Yan Guan Town, Haining, Zhejiang Province is the first scenic spot (the best scenic spot) to watch the tide, so it is also called "Haining Tide".

In the history of China, there are three famous tidal bore sites: Qingzhou tidal bore, Guanglingtao and qiantang bore. Worldwide, qiantang bore is one of the three tidal bore in the world, namely Ganges Tide, Brazilian Amazon Tide and qiantang bore, China.

As the poem says: "Qiantang looks at the waves and suddenly becomes outrageous;" It looks like an ordinary river, and its energy is amazing. " At the beginning of the tidal wave, a white line flashed on the river, accompanied by rumbling. The tide surges from far to near, and it sings like thunder. In an instant, the tidal bore raised a water wall three or four meters high and stood upright on the river, spraying beads and splashing jade. This is Malik Pentium. Tide watching began in Han and Wei Dynasties and flourished in Tang and Song Dynasties. After more than two thousand years, it has become a local custom.

Fei Yi in Qing Dynasty (1664) said in "Argument on Guangling Pottery": "In the Spring and Autumn Period, the tide surged in Shandong, and Guangling flourished in the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties. After the Tang and Song Dynasties, the tides in Zhejiang rose and fell, covering the north and south of the earth, and there were people who really knew it. "

Qiantang hole appeared later than Guangling pottery and was formed at the latest in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Wang Chong's Lun Heng Xu Shu mentioned that "Zhejiang, Henan and Shangyu rivers all have their own paths". He also said that at that time, Qiantang Zhejiang "all set up Zixu Temple to comfort their grievances and stop their violent waves". However, Wang Chong only said that "Guangling Qujiang has pottery, and the literati endowed it", and did not say that they endowed Qiantang River Tide. It can be seen that in the Eastern Han Dynasty, the fame of Qiantang Hole was far less than that of Guanglingtao. It is estimated that the custom of watching tide in Qiantang was not formed at that time.
