North american auto show was founded in 1900 and sponsored by Detroit Automobile Dealers Association. Its most attractive feature is the large number of new cars released, with 40 or 50 new cars appearing at the auto show every year. North american auto show is held every January.

The Tokyo Auto Show, which started at 1954, is known as the "weather vane of Asian cars" and has the shortest history among the five auto shows. It has a large number of small Japanese cars, and all kinds of automobile equipment and technology are also a highlight of the exhibition. Tokyo Auto Show is held every two years, and the next stage will be held in June 2007.
