History of East Lake
According to the Records of Guixian County in the 23rd year of the Republic of China, "East Lake Anton Well, also known as Lu Yun Pond, also known as Datang, is across the bridge from Li Antang in the first mile of the county. The lake is about four miles wide, and the scenery is quiet in Shui Mu. It is not only a scenic spot in the city, but also the largest lake in the upper reaches of the Xijiang River. " Yu Fang's "Integration of Ancient and Modern Books" in Qing Dynasty (volume 1437) reads: "Strange stones gush out and water flows at the bottom of them." Song Shicai said in his poem: "Deep with stone sinus, far with Yunfeng Wan Li." Tokyo was renamed East Lake because Su Dongpo, a poet in the Song Dynasty, wrote the word "East Lake". Hundreds of years later, the stone tablet of "East Lake" inscribed by Su Dongpo has disappeared. 1894, Chen Ao, a native of Guixian who was a political envoy of Sichuan and a second-class official of the Qing Dynasty, added the word "East Lake" and carved a monument. He stood at the bridge head of Longqiao in Denggu, and now it is found beside the East Lake, which is called the "symbol" of the East Lake. East Lake is adjacent to Tang Meng in the east and Shantou Pool in the west. Shantou Pool is connected with the well pool and the south well, and it surrounds the urban area from the east, west and north, forming a water town, Zeguo, and a school of Jiangnan scenery. Moreover, the pond is full of lotus roots. Every summer and autumn, hibiscus comes out of the water, green leaves reach the sky, lotus flowers reflect the sun, and the fragrance floats all over the city. After autumn and winter, the lotus root has a bumper harvest, and the sweet lotus root powder is exported overseas. So your county is called Lotus Town, and Lotus is honored as the flower of Guigang.
