John Calvin Ferguson apartment
No.99 Wu Kang Road: Liu Jingji's former residence.
Built in 1928, English country villa style. Covers an area of 3900 square meters. The eaves of the building are red and steep, and the red brick chimney is towering. As can be seen from the nameplate on the outer wall, this was originally a large residence of British businessman Zheng Guang and Soda Bank. The steep double-slope roof and a large number of red semi-exposed wooden frames on the wall show the style of English country villas. The building is hidden in the lush green trees in the garden, which is very quiet and elegant. It is also called "John Calvin Ferguson Apartment", the love nest of the hero and heroine in the movie Lust, Caution.
Wu Kang building
858 Wu Kang Road: the most iconic building.
Originally named Normandy Apartment, Wukang Building, designed by Hudac, is the earliest veranda apartment building in Shanghai. The arcade design of the building, the whole red brick wall, the corner balcony and the triangular classical window lintel are all branded with the French Renaissance. Standing at the junction of Wu Kang Road and Huaihai Road, looking up at Wu Kang Tower, the long and narrow triangular building "holds its head high", like the bow of a slowly coming ship, inevitably leads to the association of "Normandy landing", so it is not difficult to understand the origin of the old name of Wu Kang Building "Normandy Apartment".
Bajin former residence
Address: Wu Kang Road 1 13.
The former residence of literary master Ba Jin was built in 1923. 1September, 955, Ba Jin's family moved in and settled here, where he lived the longest time and created the most abundant works. Here, he completed his most famous translations and novels such as Random Thoughts, Memoirs of Creation, Past and Random Thoughts, Long Night and Beautiful Eyes. This simple and slightly dignified building consists of a main building and two annex buildings. The gray cobblestone exterior wall shows a quiet classical charm among the green trees.
