The only monogamous emperor in history, do you know who it is?
There were two monogamous emperors, Qin Yuan, who was abolished in the Western Wei Dynasty, Zhu Shitang, and hongzhi emperor in the Ming Dynasty. They all have only one queen and no other concubines. Note that the Emperor Wendi of Sui mentioned by many people is not. He has other concubines besides the lonely queen.

First of all, it should be clear that some people say that Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty was the emperor of Sui Dynasty, but he was not monogamous. In addition to the Queen Dugu, Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty also had his wife, Mrs. Cai Ronghua, Mrs. Chen and Imperial Secretary Wei Chi. In particular, Mrs. Xuanhua and Mrs. Ronghua were very popular after the death of Queen Dugu. Even when Queen Dugu was still alive, Mrs. Xuanhua was the only concubine who could be loved by Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty. So Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty was not monogamous.

Only the deposed Western Wei Emperor Qin Yuan and Ming Xiaozong hongzhi emperor Zhu Shitang were truly monogamous.

Let's talk about Qin Yuan first. Now people generally don't know much about the history of the Northern and Southern Dynasties. Qin Yuan was the emperor of the Western Wei Dynasty in the Southern and Northern Dynasties. The founding emperor of the Western Wei Dynasty, Wendi Yuanbaoju, ascended the throne in 535 with the support of the powerful minister Yu Wentai. His eldest son, Qin Yuan, who was only eleven years old, was a prince. Qin Yuan's biological mother is Yuanbaoju's original queen Yi Fu. Three years later, Yuanbaoju married Yu Jiulu, the daughter of Khan, the head soldier of Rouran, in order to prevent Rouran from attacking the border. Two years later, she gave Queen Yi Fu a gift of death. Qin Yuan did not lose his position as the Crown Prince, because he married Yu Wentai's eldest daughter Yu as the Crown Princess. 55 1 year, Yuanbao died, acceded to the throne, stood as the queen and monopolized the power. Since then, courtiers have repeatedly murdered Yu Wentai. In the first month of 554, Qin Yuan also joined the ministers to assassinate Yu Wentai. As a result, things were exposed. Yu Wentai abolished Qin Yuan and changed his fourth brother, Wang Qi Yuan Kuo, to be emperor. Three months later, Yu Wentai killed Qin Yuan. Qin Yuan was emperor for three years. Only Queen Yuwen had a wife and no other concubines. However, this is not because of Yu Wentai's pressure, but because Qin Yuan and Queen Yuwen really loved each other, and after Qin Yuan's death, Queen Yuwen also volunteered to be a martyr for her husband and died by drinking poison to quench her thirst.

Then talk about Zhu Shitang. Zhu Shitang's early years were bumpy. Ming Xianzong, her father, spoiled someone who was seventeen years older than herself, abolished the first queen Wu for her, snubbed the second queen Wang and other concubines, and made her an imperial concubine.
