Taierzhuang Canal is a great achievement in several major water diversion projects of Beijing-Hangzhou Canal. However, in the late Qing Dynasty, after the Taierzhuang Canal flourished for more than 300 years, due to the fatuity of the government, the canal was in disrepair and the water transportation was forced to be interrupted. Since then, Taierzhuang Canal has become a flood corridor, affecting both sides.
After the founding of New China, the shipping industry of Taierzhuang Canal ushered in recovery. From 1956 to 10, there are 1 10000 migrant workers in four counties in southwest Shandong, and the Yijiahe River is excavated and treated in three phases. Later, using the Yijiahe River system, 1972, the state invested in the construction of Taierzhuang Sluice and Taierzhuang Lock, and built Liu Zhuang Sluice and Liu Zhuang Lock on the Yijiahe River, as well as the port terminals of Lizhuang, Liu Zhuang and Huashanzi ... 1996, and the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, with a total investment of1200 million yuan.
Nowadays, ships pulling coal, sand, building materials and other materials flow from the waterway to the north and south of the river like "long queues" ... After 60 years of vicissitudes, the Taierzhuang Canal has only 10 boat people, 174 wooden sailboats and no professional ports, and has gradually grown into a navigable channel with four comprehensive ports and 100 all year round. Shuttle-like ships reflect the economic development along the route. Here, it not only created the beautiful city of Shiligang, but also brought vitality and vigor to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.
