The Historical Evolution of Dingjiaqiao Campus of Southeast University
Southeast University Dingjiaqiao Campus, formerly known as 1935 Central University School of Medicine, is located in Dingjiaqiao, Gulou District, Nanjing. 1937 After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the Medical College moved to Chengdu, Sichuan, and cooperated with West China University and cheeloo university in teaching. 1939 stomatological hospital was established, and the then president was Qi Shounan, a professor of internal medicine. 1946 Central University resumed classes in Nanjing, and the medical school is still located in Dingjiaqiao. After the founding of New China, the Central University was renamed Nanjing University, and the Medical College was renamed Nanjing University Medical College accordingly, with the departments of basic medicine, therapeutic medicine and social medicine, university hospitals and stomatological hospitals attached, with Cai Qiao as the dean. 1951February, the Medical College of Nanjing University was placed under the leadership of the Nanjing Military Region of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and the affiliated hospital of the Medical College was renamed the 84th Hospital of the China People's Liberation Army. 1952 The Medical College of Nanjing University was renamed the Fifth Military Medical University of China People's Liberation Army. From June 65438 to September 0954, the Fifth Military Medical University moved to Xi 'an and merged with the Fourth Military Medical University, leaving some teachers and affiliated hospitals and three military medical schools to form the Sixth Military Medical School. From June 65438 to July 0958, the General Logistics Department handed over the Sixth Military Medical School and its affiliated hospitals to the Ministry of Railways and converted them into Nanjing Railway Medical College. On April 14, 2000, according to the decision of the State Council, Nanjing Railway Medical College merged with Southeast University to form a new Southeast University. The former affiliated hospital of Nanjing Railway Medical College was changed into a medium-sized hospital affiliated to Southeast University, and the medical college became an important part of a comprehensive university. Dingjiaqiao Campus has also become one of the three main campuses of Southeast University. It is a talent training base, a medical and health service base and a biomedical R&D incubator in Jiangsu Province.

In the 73-year history of Dingjiaqiao Campus of Southeast University, many famous medical experts and educators, such as Pan, Cai Qiao and Qi Shounan, have worked or studied in this land. Since the reform and opening up, medical colleges have trained a large number of outstanding senior medical talents for the motherland, such as Academician He Lin, Professor Yang, Professor Huang Gang and so on, and made contributions to the national medical and health undertakings.
