History of caesarean section
Not all women in ancient times gave birth naturally, and there were examples of caesarean section, but the survival rate of parturient after operation was very low. In the historical records of China, the earliest case that a person was delivered by caesarean section was Dayu. His mother gave birth to Dayu in Wenchuan by means of "chest" and "back". The way of signing contracts in Shang Dynasty is also very similar to that of Dayu. After his mother Judy swallowed the egg, she gave birth to him by "cutting her chest". The six sons of Lu Zhong, the ancestor of Chu State, were also born after being cut.

Of course, these records are inevitably somewhat mythical. But myths all come from real life, which shows that in the ancient pre-Qin period, there have been examples of unnatural childbirth. However, it is not clear whether Ji Bian and Judy will survive after giving birth.

However, after the first caesarean section in China's history, the example of mother and child surviving appeared in the Three Kingdoms period.

According to the Records of the Three Kingdoms, in 224 AD, Wang, the wife of Qu Yong, a native of Ru 'nan, gave birth to a son under her armpit, and amniotic fluid flowed from her abdomen. After delivery, the mother and child were safe and the wound healed quickly. This incident alarmed Kong Xian, the satrap of Runan, and he made a special trip to report to Cao Pi. It can be seen that it was a miracle at that time that mother and son were not born smoothly.

The earliest recorded example of caesarean section abroad was in ancient Rome. Around 700 AD, Roman law stipulated that after a woman died in childbirth, she could take out her child by caesarean section and bury it. Visible, foreign caesarean section is carried out after the maternal death, China should be no exception.

As can be seen from the above examples, not all children were born naturally in ancient times, but there were also examples of non-natural delivery (caesarean section). However, limited by the medical level and conditions, children in ancient times really walked on the gate of hell together. Either you had a natural birth and nothing happened. Once dystocia occurs, it is basically necessary to choose between protecting children and protecting adults. Even caesarean section is usually performed after the maternal death, and there are few examples of mother and child surviving.

With the development of science and technology, people began to perform caesarean section on living people from the17th century, but the survival rate of pregnant women is very low because of bacterial infection. In the 65438+ 1970' s, in order to prevent infection, western medicine simply removed the uterus after the operation, which improved the survival rate of the parturient, but the parturient could not have children afterwards.

From 65438 to 0882, a major breakthrough was made in caesarean section, and doctors successfully tried to suture the uterus. Since then, with the progress of science and technology, the success rate of caesarean section has become higher and higher, which has been accepted by more and more people.

In addition to scientific and technological progress, there are other factors besides the increasing number of caesarean sections. From the maternal side, in order to reduce the pain of childbirth or keep fit, caesarean section will be chosen. For profit, the hospital will also recommend caesarean section for women who could have given birth naturally. Of course, the price of caesarean section is not high, and more than half of it can be reimbursed, which is also affordable for the general working class.

Finally, a set of statistics shows that the proportion of caesarean section in the west is basically below 10%, while that in China is around 20%. Why is the proportion of caesarean section in China so high? Through the above analysis, there is no need to say more.
