Anning has a long history and is known as "the land of gladiators, the land of rivers and even the golden edge". In the second year of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty (BC 109), Li Anran County was established in the Western Han Dynasty, and a salt official was established here. In the fourth year of Tang Wude (AD 62 1), it was called Anning County. In the 12th year of Yuan Dynasty (A.D. 1275), it was called Anning County. 2 years (AD 19 13), renamed Anning County. During the Anti-Japanese War, in order to develop the anti-Japanese war industry and open up international communication lines, the 105 steel plant and Qiaotoucun steel plant were established in Anning, and the Yunnan-Myanmar highway was built. April 20 1950 Anning County People's Government was established. 1956 10, Anning County was changed to Anning District of Kunming City. 1September, 959, renamed Anning county. 199510 June 13. Anning city was established with the approval of the State Council and belongs to Kunming city.
Location: Anning is located in the western suburbs of Kunming, 28 kilometers away from the main city of Kunming. Between east longitude 102 8' ~ 102 37' and north latitude 24 3 1' ~ 25 6'. It is about 66.5 kilometers long from north to south and 46.4 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 130 1 square kilometer. It borders Xishan District in the east and northeast, Lufeng County in the west and northwest, Jinning County in the south and southeast, and Yimen County in the southwest.
Administrative Division: Anning City has nine sub-district offices (namely Bajie Sub-district Office, County Sub-district Office, Wenquan Sub-district Office, Qinglong Sub-district Office, Caopu Sub-district Office, Luqi Sub-district Office, Taiping Xincheng Sub-district Office, Li Anran Sub-district Office and Jinfang Sub-district Office), with 66 villagers' committees, 348 villagers' groups, 33 community residents' committees and 148 residents' groups.
