Dongyang Town has a long history. In the first year of Jianwu in the Southern Qi Dynasty (AD 494), Geba County was located in Dongyang County, and the county was located in Dongyang, which was famous for its rising from the east of the river. It has been 1500 years. Dongyang Town has been an ancient town and a famous area of Bayu since ancient times. Before liberation, this was Huang Jue Town. 1950 after the peaceful liberation of beibei, Huang Jue sub-district office was established, and the rural part merged with eryan township to form dongyang township (CCBA). After several changes, the People's Government of Dongyang Town was formally established in February, 1987. At present, the whole town has jurisdiction over 16 villages, 128 groups and 4 community neighborhood committees, with a total population of 52,000, including 28,000 urban residents. There are Hui, Miao, Tibetan, Zhuang, Dai, Yi, Manchu, Wa, Buyi, Tujia, Lahu and Gelao ethnic minorities 13.
