Four portraits with gold masks, similar in size and shape to ordinary people, were unearthed in the No.2 pit of Sanxingdui. But because of wearing a gold mask, these portraits are still more recognizable among dozens of portraits. Whether the gold mask symbolizes status or represents different skin colors is still inconclusive in academic circles. As early as Shang Dynasty, Shu people knew that gold was the most important thing and used it for sacrificial activities.

Among the cultural relics unearthed in Sanxingdui, bronzes are the most distinctive. Among them, nearly 100 bronze heads, represented by golden faces, built the most mysterious bronze masked head kingdom in the world 3000 years ago.

In ancient China, where there was basically no idol worship tradition, a large number of bronze statues unearthed in Sanxingdui were peerless masterpieces. They were not only symbols of gods, but also representatives of ruling groups on earth.
