Leshan Giant Buddha is a seated statue of Maitreya Buddha, 7 1 m high. It is the largest cliff stone statue in China. Leshan Giant Buddha was excavated in the first year of Kaiyuan in Tang Dynasty (7 13). When the giant Buddha reached his shoulder, monk Haitong died and the project was once interrupted. After the sword, I made Zhang Qiu and Joan, together with Haitong's apprentice, continue to build the Giant Buddha.

Forty years later, Wei Gao, our emissary from Xichuan, Jiannan, continued to build Leshan Giant Buddha. After the efforts of three generations of craftsmen, it was completed in the 19th year of Zhenyuan (803), which took about 90 years.
