What is the history of the ancient capital Nanjing?
Nanjing, referred to as Jinling for short, is a famous ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. Six regimes, namely Song, Qi, Liang and Chen, established their capitals here in Soochow, Eastern Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties. Nanjing has a long history, with a history of more than 2,500 years and a history of nearly 500 years. It is one of the four ancient capitals in China, and is known as "the ancient capital of six dynasties" and "the metropolis of ten dynasties".

Nanjing lies in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. For thousands of years, the surging Yangtze River gave birth to the ancient capital South.

Historically, Nanjing has benefited from its unique geographical location and suffered greatly from it. In the past, Nanjing suffered many disasters from wars, but it also rebuilt its prosperity from the ruins.
