Reporter: Li Lao, you are an expert in kiwifruit research in China. First of all, would you please introduce kiwifruit to us?
Xin Li: OK. As early as the early 1960s, when I was the vice-captain of the vitamin expedition team of Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, I discovered a large number of kiwifruit resources in Funiu Mountain, Henan Province. After the vitamin inspection mission, I was appointed as the head of the kiwifruit project, and continued to conduct in-depth investigation and research on kiwifruit in Funiu Mountain, publishing kiwifruit papers and monographs for the first time in China.
This kind of kiwifruit was originally a specialty of China, but it was finally "caught up" by New Zealand. In China, zhouzhi county, Shaanxi Province is the county with the largest planting area of macaques in China, with a planting area of about 300,000 mu, accounting for more than 80% of the county's agricultural industry, which is inseparable from the county leaders' attention to the kiwifruit industry.
At that time, I developed a new variety of kiwifruit and popularized it in zhouzhi county. In 1980s, kiwifruit was popularized all over the country.
Reporter: According to the data, the planting area of Kiwifruit in Jiangshan, Quzhou is10.5 million mu, and the output reaches10.2 million tons. What do you think of the quality of Jiangshan Monkey Peach? Where is the way out to expand this industry?
Xin Li: I have eaten Jiangshan kiwifruit, especially Jiangshan's "Xu Xiang" kiwifruit is more delicious than "Qinmei". At present, "Qinmei" kiwifruit is the main product in the domestic market, and "Xu Xiang" kiwifruit has a good market prospect.
The key of kiwifruit is good taste, delicious and sweet. To develop this industry, on the one hand, varieties are very important. Secondly, kiwifruit must not be "fruit-increasing spirit", because it will make the fruit bigger, but the flavor will also change.
The improvement of kiwifruit varieties is very important to see the benefits. Must maintain its unique flavor and yield. In addition, the storage of kiwifruit is also very important, which can be refrigerated, delayed and sold at a good price.
Reporter: Since 2 1 century, you have started to study okra. Could you please talk about the present situation and prospect of okra?
Xin Li: I have studied okra for more than ten years. Some time ago, I made a report in Changchun about the development prospect of okra industry with the same origin of medicine and food in China. Okra, introduced from abroad, has been cultivated for more than 80 years. This is a new type of healthy vegetable, which is now being planted in many countries in the world.
Okra has several characteristics: First, it is suitable for cultivation. The soil and climate in China are suitable for planting okra, which can be planted from Hainan to Northeast China. Second, less investment, quick results and high economic benefits can help farmers increase their income and get rich. Generally, young fruits and flowers can be harvested and sold 45 to 60 days after sowing. In Sanya, Hainan, the income of okra per mu is as high as 20,000 yuan. In Jiangshan City, farmers earn seven or eight thousand yuan per mu from planting okra. 3. Okra can be processed into a variety of products, such as dried okra, okra scented tea and okra oil. , suitable for township processing and production, and promote the development of local enterprises. As a healthy vegetable, it can also be developed into tourism products. Fourth, the tender fruits, dried flowers and seeds of okra are rich in nutrition. Eating okra regularly can prevent and treat many diseases and improve people's health.
Reporter: At present, many farmers and leading enterprises in our city are promoting the planting and processing of okra. How do you think Quzhou should develop this industry?
Xin Li: Okra is a new industry, which can help farmers increase their income and get rich. To develop this industry, Quzhou must be well-known and at the forefront of the country.
Now, the okra industry in Jiangshan City has become a minor celebrity. Through deep processing, the scented tea of okra has been sold for 4,000 yuan per kilogram, and the oil of okra has also been sold for more than 600 yuan. Quzhou is rich in labor resources, but okra has disadvantages. Harvesting requires a lot of manpower, so it is impossible to replace harvesting with machinery at present. This is a short board, but it has become the advantage of Quzhou, which can drive many farmers to increase their income. Therefore, as long as the local government attaches importance to the okra industry and vigorously supports the development of the okra planting and processing industry, we can find a new way to revitalize the local economic development. A few years later, I expect that the okra industry in Quzhou will be in the forefront of the country.
Of course, I also hope that the kiwifruit industry in Quzhou will become bigger and stronger year by year.
