History of Ophthalmology Branch of Chinese Medical Association
1937 In April, at the 12 National Congress of Chinese Medical Association, ophthalmologists attending the meeting initiated and formally established the National Unified Ophthalmology Society of Chinese Medical Association, with Zhou Chenghu and Lin Wenbing as the official vice presidents, and the society was located in Shanghai. In the July 7th Incident of the same year, society was paralyzed. During the15th National Congress of Chinese Medical Association held in Ning on 1947, the Ophthalmology Society resumed its organization, with Lin Wenbing and Chen as the president and vice president respectively.

1950 During the16th National Congress of Chinese Medical Association held in Beijing in August, the ophthalmologists attending the meeting were re-elected as members of the Committee of Chinese Ophthalmology Association, with Bi Huade and Luo Zongxian as the chairman and deputy chairman. The meeting adopted the articles of association of the Ophthalmology Society and officially named it "China Ophthalmology Society". In the same year, the Ophthalmology Society moved from Shanghai to Beijing with the Chinese Medical Association. Since then, ophthalmic societies in various provinces and cities have successively established or resumed organizational activities.

1965 held a national ophthalmology academic conference in the name of Chinese Ophthalmology Society, which was called "the first national ophthalmology academic conference of Chinese Ophthalmology Society". 1979 the second national academic conference on ophthalmology was held. Since then, it has been held every four years 1 time. In 2000, the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh national ophthalmology academic conferences were held in Nanning, Nanjing, Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai. It was held every two years in 2002 and once a year after 2005. So far, it is 18 ophthalmology academic conference. 1 1 The professional academic conference of ophthalmology professional groups has promoted the development of the academic level of ophthalmology.

In order to reward ophthalmologists who have made outstanding contributions, according to the proposal of the Sino-American Ophthalmology Society, the Standing Committee of the Ophthalmology Society has selected and awarded the Golden Apple and Golden Key Awards nationwide since 1992, and then successively added the Outstanding Achievement Award, the Chinese Ophthalmology Society Award and the International Gold Award.

Starting from 1930, Zhou Chenghu and Bi Huade fought for the publication of ophthalmology materials, and edited and published a special issue of ophthalmology literature in the then Chinese Medical Journal. To 1943, issued in total 1 1 issue. 1 95010 June1day, the first issue of Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology, a publication of the Chinese Ophthalmology Society, was officially published. Later, it published a quarterly magazine regularly. After that, there are two months, two months. In recent years, each volume has increased from 64 pages to 96 pages.

China Ophthalmology Society 1950 has10/member, with 4000 registered members in 2000. At that time, there were about 22,000 ophthalmologists in China. The contact between China Ophthalmology Society and the international ophthalmology community is expanding year by year, and it has hosted many international ophthalmology academic conferences. With the efforts of Professor Zhao Jialiang, the China Ophthalmology Society finally became a member of the International Federation of Ophthalmology Societies (IFOS) and the Asia-Pacific Ophthalmology Society (APAO) in 2004 and 2005.

At present, the Ophthalmology Branch of Chinese Medical Association has passed on to the 10 leading group, with Professor Li Xiaoxin as the chairman. The general goal of this ophthalmology branch is to improve the academic level of ophthalmologists in China, promote the progress of ophthalmology, promote the internationalization of ophthalmology in China, and promote the quality service for eye patients.

Approved by the Chinese Medical Association on June 5438+1October 65438+May, 2002, the Ophthalmology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association has implemented the specialist membership system according to the provisions of Article 9 of Chapter III of the Constitution of the Chinese Medical Association and the Regulations on the Membership of Chinese Medical Association, and according to the actual situation of the development of ophthalmology in China.
