Fujian first appeared in the 13th year of the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (AD 725), and the name of Fuzhou first appeared when Fujian Governor's Office was changed to Fuzhou Governor's Office. In the 21st year of Kaiyuan (A.D. 733), in order to strengthen the frontier defense, a viceroy was set up, taking the word Fuzhou and Jianzhou as its name, and renamed it "Fujian viceroy" (the title of viceroy). This is the first time that the name "Fujian" appears.
The emergence of Fujian
Fujian is called Min for short, and the word Min first appeared in the Zhou Dynasty. The records of "Four Yi, Eight Yi, Seven Min, Nine Raccoons, Five Rong and Six Di" in Li Zhouzhi Local Records are the beginning of written records. According to Han Xu Shenyun: "In Fujian, the southeast Vietnamese snake is also a species, so it follows the insects." The so-called snake species is the race of snakes, and it is believed that the ancestors of Fujian and Yue nationalities evolved from snakes.
As early as the matriarchal clan period in primitive society, people did not understand the origin of human beings. Every clan worships an animal or plant as its "totem", that is, its ancestors. Totem is an Indian word meaning "relative". Clans living in Fujian worship snakes as a symbol. Snakes, as an insect, live in doors and are people, so they are called people for short. To put it another way, Fujian was called the land of Fujian and Vietnam in ancient times, and the Qin Dynasty set up Minzhong County with it, so it was called "Fujian" for short.
