The Historical Evolution of Lingao County
Lingao, formerly known as Luo Fu and Lin Ji, belonged to Xiang Jun as early as the Qin Dynasty. In BC 1 10 (the first year of Yuanfeng in the Western Han Dynasty), Lizhuya and Yuer County belonged to Yuer County. In 82 BC (the fifth year of Zhao Han), near Zhu Ya, Lingao belonged to Zhu Ya.

In 607 (the third year of Yang Di's great cause), the county was established. Piye Mountain is under the jurisdiction of the county, hence the name Pishan County, which belongs to Zhu Ya County. In 622 (the fifth year of Tang Wude), Pishan County was changed to Luo Fu County, which belonged to Danzhou. In the same year, Luo Fu County was abolished, and Lin Ji (Chicken) County was established in Lin Ji Village, Nayudu Beach, which is forty miles east. Obviously, its county name is based on the village name.

7 13 years (the first year of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty), it was renamed Lingao and merged into Qiongzhou in the Song Dynasty.

From 1 13 1 to 1 162 (Shaoxing, Southern Song Dynasty), it first moved to Zhimo Village. During the Republic of China, Lingao County was under the jurisdiction of Qiongya Administrative Office, Reconstruction Agency Southern District and Hainan Special Administrative Region.

Lingao County was liberated on February1,1April, 950.
