National judicial examination
On June 30th, 2000/KLOC-0, the 22nd session of the Ninth National People's Congress passed the amendments to the Law on Judges and the Law on Prosecutors. The annexes to the amendments to the two laws clearly stipulate: "The state implements a unified judicial examination system for newly appointed judges, prosecutors and lawyers, and the judicial administrative department of the State Council, together with the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, will jointly formulate measures for the implementation of the judicial examination;
The judicial administrative department of the State Council is responsible for the implementation. "This marks the official establishment of a national judicial examination system that integrates lawyer qualifications, newly appointed judges and newly appointed prosecutors.
