The best proverb in history proves that Yu Xia is a good leader.

Text/stupid person

"Rumors, rumors." (Xu Shen: Shuo Wen Jie Zi) is widely circulated among the people, which is another remarkable feature of the proverb itself. The spread of proverbs needs a fixed scope and opportunity, which requires a prerequisite, that is, the relative concentration and stability of human habitation, which is only possible after the emergence of villages.

Oracle Bone Inscriptions unearthed in Yin Ruins and other places is an earlier writing we found. This is a long-term brewing and basically mature work. Lao Guo said: "There is no doubt that by the time Oracle Bone Inscriptions appeared, China characters had developed for at least two or three thousand years." (Guo Moruo: "Slavery Age") From the early summer to the Yin Ruins, there is no doubt that there are characters in the early summer and they are used in literature records. No book is a coincidence. The written proverbs we see today begin with the so-called "summer proverbs":

"My king don't swim, why my clothes. If my king is not ready, how can I help him? A trip to Henan is a vassal. " (Mencius. Liang's next chapter "Yan Zi Yin")

This is a popular proverb in Xia Dynasty, which vividly reflects the relationship between the disintegration of primitive society, agricultural production activities and slave society in the slavery era.

The original meaning of "swim" is the ribbon on the flagpole. At that time, I was traveling in Yu Wang, and I walked around with a few flags to get to know the production situation and people's feelings. Therefore, the purpose of "spring outing" is "spring ploughing to save the famine". The original meaning of "Yu" is that a person leads an elephant. What is he doing? This is a means of transportation. The purpose of "going to Henan in autumn" is to "save money in autumn and help or not". In autumn, when Yu Wang investigates the harvest and decides how many crops to harvest, he takes the elephant as a mount. Luo Zhenyu said, "The ancients served elephants to help them. This matter may still be before serving cows and riding horses. " At that time, elephants were used not only as vehicles, but also as animal power. Ancient books also say that elephants were used to fight at the end of Yin Dynasty. China used to produce elephants, but due to climate change, it moved south to India. Henan province, formerly known as Yuzhou, is the birthplace of elephants. Sub-fossil elephants have been found in Yin Ruins (Anyang, Henan Province), and there is indeed a record of catching elephants in Oracle Bone Inscriptions: "It rains tonight, and you get an elephant." (top three, three, three)

The people of Xia dynasty expressed this meaning through this proverb: our king, if he doesn't come to see it in spring, he won't understand our hard work, so let's have a rest; If you don't come to inspect the autumn harvest, you won't know about the crop failure, and you can reduce taxes and provide relief. In fact, in Yu's era, there was almost no saying that "no travel, no preparation", but since he ascended the throne, these fine traditions have been lost one by one. The people, with their infinite yearning for the former king, asked the current rulers to learn the annual spring outing and autumn preparation. They think this is the statute that the rulers should abide by now!

This Xia proverb, written earlier, still has a strong flavor of agricultural society and depicts a very interesting picture of the agricultural kingdom, which is of certain significance for investigating the relationship between agricultural production, society and customs at that time. The proverb "the first in history" also proves that Yu Xia is a good leader and the "first public servant" in the history of China.
