The historical evolution of Shiyan;

Shiyan, an ancient Yunyang, has a long history and splendid culture. According to the archaeological discovery of Qinglong Spring in Yunxian County, as early as the Neolithic Age, this area had Yangshao culture, Longshan culture and Qujialing culture at the same time, which was the intersection of the three ancient cultures in China. In the pre-Qin period, there were elk country, Yong country and Twist country, and in the Warring States period, it belonged to Chu State. Qin belonged to Hanzhong County and Nanyang County, and Han was ruled by Qin, but its jurisdiction changed slightly in later generations. China was unified by the Qin Dynasty, and counties were established by abolishing the enfeoffment system. A small part of Shiyan in the east belongs to Nanyang County, and most of Shiyan in the west belongs to Hanzhong County, controlled by the Qin Dynasty. In the 12th year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty (AD 1476), Yunyang House was established, and Shiyan belonged to Hubei Province. After the liberation of Shiyan, 1948 belonged to the administrative office of southern Shaanxi, and in March, 1950 belonged to Hubei. 1967 The Second Automobile Factory (now Dongfeng Motor Company) was built here, and Shiyan offices were set up in Shiyan and Huanglong districts and Tumen Commune in Yunyang area. Shiyan City (county-level city) 1969 was approved by the State Council, and 1973 was upgraded. 1994 10, the original Shiyan city and Yunyang district merged to form a new Shiyan city, realizing the management system with the city as the county.
