1. USA: Global Positioning System
The global positioning system was developed by the American government in the 1970s, and 1994 was fully built. Galileo system will be put into operation in 2008. At present, only one of the two experimental satellites of Galileo system is working. 4. China: Beidou system
20111February, China started the Beidou/Beidou system as a pilot project. According to Ran Chengqi, director of China Satellite Navigation System Office, Beidou has been able to provide navigation and positioning services between China and neighboring countries. Ran Chengqi said: "Our system can not only show your exact location, but also determine the time, and users can send text messages." At present, the 10 satellite of Beidou navigation system covers Australia in the south, Russia in the north, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in China in the west and the Pacific Ocean in the east. In 20 13, China will also plan to launch 6 satellites to expand the coverage area, and the system will have 35 satellites. At present, the accuracy of Beidou navigation system is less than 25 meters, and this accuracy will be improved to 10 meters next year. Beidou system will contribute to the development of navigation in China.
