In 2004, China Football Association officially launched the "Chinese Football Association Super League" on the basis of summarizing the ten years of professional football in China, in order to further enhance the competitive level and brand of professional football in China.

There are 12 teams participating in the first Super League. The previous two sessions suspended the promotion and demotion system, and the promotion and demotion system was resumed in 2006 (but due to the dissolution of Guancheng in Sichuan in 2006, Shanghai Shenhua and Shanghai Liancheng merged in 2007).

In 2008, Wuhan Optics Valley dropped out, and Dalian Shide dropped out at the beginning of the 20 13 season. Therefore, only "two promotions and one drop" were implemented in these four years, that is, two promoted teams were promoted to the Chinese League and one relegated team was promoted to the Chinese League.

In April, 2006, in order to further improve the marketization process of China's football industry, China Football Association and all the participating clubs of Super League jointly established Super League Limited Liability Company.

In 2007, due to the merger of Shanghai Liancheng and Shanghai Shenhua, 15 club participated in the 4th Super League.

In the 2008 season, 16 team participated in the Super League for the first time, but at the beginning of 10 season, Wuhan Optics Valley withdrew from the Super League because it claimed that the China Football Association had unfairly punished them for violating the procedures.

20 10, 6 teams, including defending champion Beijing Guoan, participated in the league, which started on March 27th and ended on June 6th, 20 10. The opening ceremony was held in Beijing Workers Stadium.

20 1 1 Before the season (including League A and League B), China recruited tommasi, Gombos, Jenkins, Hans, jankovic, nemecek, ermin siljak, Nicolas Ouédec, babangida, Toftin, Ian Kerr, gascoyne, Baiano, Balks, Albers, Ruben Sosa and Sabers.
