The Historical Development of the Ministry of Justice of the People's Republic of China
1949101On October 30th, according to the Organic Law of the Central People's Government, the Ministry of Justice of the Central People's Government was established. 1954, after the first constitution of China was promulgated, it was renamed as the Ministry of Justice of the People's Republic of China, and at the same time, judicial administrative departments were established in major administrative regions of the country. After the abolition of the great administrative region, the judicial departments and bureaus of all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government were established one after another, and specialized judicial administrative institutions were established at the regional and municipal levels.

At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, judicial administrative organs at all levels in China did a lot of work in reforming the old judicial system, establishing and perfecting local people's courts at all levels, establishing a lawyer notarization system, establishing a university of political science and law, cultivating legal professionals, training judicial cadres, and carrying out legal publicity, which made positive contributions to consolidating people's democratic political power and promoting socialist revolution and construction. However, from 65438 to 0959, the national judicial administrative organs were abolished until the end of the Cultural Revolution, which lasted for 20 years.

At the 10 meeting of the fifth NPC Standing Committee held in September, 1979, it was decided to strengthen the national judicial management and rebuild the Ministry of Justice. In June 5438+in the same year 10, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the Notice on the Rapid Establishment of Local Judicial Administrative Organs. China's judicial administration has opened a new chapter of healthy development.
