King Zhao Zhou was trampled to death. What monsters have entered history in Shan Hai Jing?
According to statistics, The Classic of Mountains and Seas has only more than 30,000 words, but it records 4,830 kinds of monsters. However, the images of these monsters have become rich materials in later literary novels and dramas, such as the four familiar ancient murderers, chaos, gluttony, Qiong Qi, Di Jiang, bluebird, tengu, nine-tailed fox and so on.

Whether these monsters exist in history cannot be verified now. This paper will not focus on those unreal monsters, but will talk about two kinds of "monsters" that have been proved to exist completely in later generations and have entered history again and again.

The first kind of "monster" is called Bi Zhi Zhi. According to Shan Hai Jing, Bi looks like a tiger, but he has an ox tail. It barks like a dog and can eat people. Bi is the monster with the highest frequency in Shan Hai Jing. Looking through Shan Hai Jing, there are as many as a dozen or twenty heroes with bi physiological characteristics. In ancient times, if someone praised you for looking like Bi, it must be a compliment, not a curse.

According to Shan Hai Jing Hai Nei Jing, to the east of the desert and to the west of the Heishui River, there are two countries, one is called the country near the cloud, and the other is called the country of Sikun. The Yellow Emperor married his wife Lei Zu and gave birth to a son named Changyi. The Korean Wave was born in Changyi, so what is it like? Long head, small ears, round legs, unicorn's body, and most notably his mouth. Everyone says it looks like a bird.

Zhuan Xu, the son of the Korean Wave, is the ancestor of the Chinese nation. According to ancient records, his appearance is characterized by a round head and a fat face, in other words, it means "finish".

Shan Hai Jing. "Sea Classic" also said that there is a hermaphrodite variety on Zhushan Mountain. Its characteristic is that it looks as fat as ordinary ones, but it is covered with white bristles. As hard as a thorn on a hedgehog, it can even be shot as an arrow. If you don't like shaking your body, it will stab you in the face-so this wonderful thing is really terrible.

There is also a kind of fish-headed owl, which also lives in the mountains and makes a call like a dolphin. As long as it calls, a global drought will inevitably occur!

There is even a bi with two heads, called a screen. And the ideas of the two heads will never be unified, so this monster's life is spent in the contradiction between left and right.

As for the Kui-shaped strange mountain cream on the bitter mountain, its only specialty is that it likes to make trouble and call names. When it sees a curse, it will run after it. After running for a while, it continued to curse when it saw that you didn't chase. When you raise your bow and arrow, it runs away again. When you put it down, it turned around and began to curse again.

This wonderful creature is almost annoying. In ancient times, when Di Ku was traveling, he met a monster in the mountains. This animal was scolded as soon as it was exported, and so was Tiger Pan, the Di Ku hound. When he caught up with it, he killed it and turned it into a delicious meal.

The worship of this strange creature "Bi" continued until the Western Zhou Dynasty. At that time, there was a vassal state in Huozhou, Shanxi Province, which was simply named "Bi".

As a result, this vassal state became famous. The famous reason is that in the Western Zhou Dynasty, a Han rebellion broke out in Haojing, the capital of the Western Zhou Dynasty, and the tenth generation of the monarch of the Western Zhou Dynasty fled, and finally he went to the country of Won, where he spent the rest of his life.

Of course, this country is actually another name for fire nation. It was founded by Zhou Wuwang's younger brother, Shu Chu, and finally died in 66 BC1year. It was the state of Jin with the same surname Ji that destroyed him.

So, after talking for a long time, what is this thing? It's simple. It's actually a big wild boar. Millie, or ordinary Millie pig.

Wild boar is fierce, but it is nothing to the ancients and not too rare. What's really amazing is another creature you haven't seen before, called Si! This thing appeared in Shan Hai Jing. Nanjing, Hainan. It is said that this kind of animal appears in the east of Dashun burial site and the south bank of Xiangshui. It is shaped a bit like a cow, with a black body and a horn.

According to historical records, there was a king Zhao of Zhou, that is, his father, who dated the Queen Mother of the West. Sima Qian said that he was also a prodigal son, loved to play, often went to the south to play, and never came back for several years. Why don't you come back? Is it lust for the beauty and beauty of the south? It turned out that he was dead, dead on the river. Everyone refused to say. What is this for? Because as a king, he really died in disgrace, so there are some taboos in the history books of the Zhou Dynasty.

The question is, how did the Zhou emperor end up like this? Later, historians found the answer in the annals of bamboo books, which recorded: "(Zhou Zhaowang) attacked and involved Han, and encountered great difficulties."

It turns out that this playful son of heaven is not traveling south, but someone else has something serious to do, that is, to crusade against Chu. Unfortunately, this ambitious son of heaven met a group of "big boys" by the Hanshui River!

What is a "big boy"? According to the description and illustrations in Shan Hai Jing, it is generally believed that a child is a female rhinoceros. There is such a passage in the Book of Songs: "Make a mountain out of a molehill, make a mountain out of a molehill to control the guests and make a decision." "Little raccoon" is a sow, but it is also a female, just a female rhinoceros. Shoot pigs here, rhinoceros there, kill them for the guests, have a good drink and eat together.

Qu Yuan, a great poet of Chu, also commented on the "big boy" that Zhou Zhaowang met during his southern tour. He said: "This is how King Zhao of Zhou died. At that time, Chu Zhuangwang Zhao Zhou wanted to dedicate this pheasant to the king of Chu. The king of Chu was very happy and came to Chu with his army. Well, as a result, he came back and died for no reason. Hey, it's really not good for the country! "

Is that so?

In fact, at that time, there was a great primitive ecological park in Hubei called Yunmengze. It is said that the ground is full of rhinoceros and elk, and the water is full of fish, turtles and giant salamanders. Later, Mozi praised it as "Jianghan is rich in the world." Mozi is an honest man, and this is not too fake.

However, some people speculate that the beast that attacked King Zhao of Zhou was not necessarily a rhinoceros, but a Chinese alligator. In the southern Jianghu, it is a fierce beast lurking in the water. You can imagine another scene. Just when Zhou Wang crossed the river here and passed through the middle of the water, the bridge collapsed at this time. As soon as the bridge collapsed, the Chinese alligator came and looked around to see if there was anything to eat. As a result, I saw King Zhao of Zhou, the son of a big country, who should be well maintained. The Chinese alligator took a look. All right, come on.

The question is, does this have anything to do with Chu? You can say that the Chu people broke the bridge ahead of time. Okay, what about the evidence?

In 659 BC, Qi Huangong led the Central Plains south to attack Chu, and the mystery of that year was put on the table again.

Qi Huangong, when I visited you in the south of Zhou, you were killed in Yunmengze. For so many years, you have never given an explanation to Zhou Wang and the whole world. I'm afraid it's impossible to say so!

Ambassador Chu, hehe .. I don't know what happened when Zhao Haoqi didn't go home during his southern tour. It is said that he was attacked by a group of lunatics. Otherwise, Qi Huangong, ask the boundless Han River! Hebo may tell you the answer. ".

Did the Chu people really not know? The same is the Annals of Bamboo Books, which clearly records: "In the nineteenth year of Wang Zhao, the pheasant rabbits were all surprised by the great disaster, and Han lost six divisions."

The "big hole" is an eclipse, no problem. The key point is that the whole "six parts" of the Zhou royal family were destroyed in Hanshui, which is terrible! The so-called "six departments" are the exclusive royal corps of Zhou Tianzi. One division 100 soldiers, each division 10 soldiers, 6,000 elite troops, a group of female rhinoceroses or several Chinese alligators can eat a king, but they can't annex the southern expedition of the whole Zhou Dynasty.

So the next plot is very logical. At that time, Zhao Haoqi went south with a large group of people, looking around on the bridge and flirting. Suddenly, the bridge collapsed and poor Zhou Lianren fell into the river with his car. Before and after the body-guard soldiers, they all cried for help in haste, but no one came forward at the moment. They heard huge and crazy animal footsteps accompanied by a loud noise. A large group of lunatics attacked the body guard in Dazhou, followed by a group of murderous troops-Chu Jun.

There was a fight, and the final result was the sentence "Han lost six divisions."

The face of the Zhou dynasty, at this moment, has been defeated by the monster Datong in Shan Hai Jing.

From the perspective of myth and literature, in fact, the ancient books write the wild animals in remote areas so strangely and cruelly, just to prove the barbarity of those remote barbarians, because wild animals are often the totems or symbols of these barbarians.
