It was in 2002 that the China Winter Disabled Sports Delegation participated in the Winter Paralympics for the first time. In 2002, the China sports delegation participated in the Winter Paralympics held in Salt Lake City for the first time. At that time, four athletes were sent to participate.

At that time, four athletes participated in alpine skiing and cross-country skiing, and achieved the sixth place. The first Paralympic Winter Games was held in Enschel zwick, Sweden from February 1976 to February 2 1-28. A total of 250 disabled athletes from 16 countries and regions participated in the Paralympic Games.

There are four major events in the Paralympic Winter Games: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ice sledding and wheelchair sports dance, and each event includes several minor events.

Paralympic significance
