Shangyu District is a municipal district of Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, People's Republic of China (PRC) (China).

Shangyu is said to be the birthplace of Shun and the place where Shun gave way to Danzhu. There is a historical legend that "avoid Dan Zhu, obey all officials", and it is also the legendary hometown of Zhu Yingtai and the birthplace of China celadon.
