China traditional drama originated from folk songs. Pu Opera, also known as Zhou Pu Bangzi, is one of the oldest Han folk opera arts in China. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Pu Opera was called "Luantan", "Shanxi Opera" and "Shanshan Bangzi Opera" in other provinces. Among them, Jinnan Pu Theatre (now the predecessor of Linfen Pu Theatre and Yuncheng Pu Opera Troupe) is the most representative. The main famous actors are Wang Xiulan (Xiao Dan), Yan Fengchun (Xu Sheng), Zhang Qingkui (Xu Sheng), Yang Hushan (Er Jing) and Xiao Yuelai (Xiao Sheng). The main musicians are Che Linwa (drum board) and Che Taiwa (banhu). There are also writers, directors, musicians and dancers involved in artistic creation and innovation.
