Serbia and Montenegro, the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, inherited the main body of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and changed its name to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

In 2003, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia amended its new constitution and changed its name to Serbia and Montenegro, and Yugoslavia completely became a historical term.
