Brief introduction of French concession in Shanghai
Shanghai French Concession is one of the two concessions in Shanghai (the other is Shanghai Public Concession), which is mainly located in Luwan District (merged into Huangpu District) and Xuhui District of Shanghai, and the eastern narrow strip extends to Huangpu District today. Shanghai French Concession is the earliest, largest and most prosperous of the four major French Concessions in modern China. The other three French Concessions are Tianjin French Concession, Hankou French Concession and Guangzhou French Concession (Shamian). 1849 opened, and experienced a small expansion of 1900. 19 14 began a large expansion to establish a new concession for legislation, and 1920s developed into the best and most advanced residential area in Shanghai. 1On July 30th, 943, Wang Jingwei's regime regained the most important French Concession in Shanghai and renamed it the Eighth District, which immediately ended the nearly hundred-year history of the French Concession.
