3. Qingdao

The place names that first appeared in the literature were in the Ming Dynasty. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, Xu Ling, the magistrate of Jimo County, said in "On Local Events": "On the east coast of this county, that is, the eastern boundary of China, there is no Tianjin, and only Luo Zhi can live on the island, that is, Qingdao and Dafu Island ..."

At that time, Qingdao and Dafu Island were under the jurisdiction of Jimo County. The "livable island" here does not refer to the uninhabited "small Qingdao" in Qianhai, but refers to the title of land villages and towns, which has been used until the Qing Dynasty. 1897 After Germany occupied Qingdao, it signed the Jiaozhou Bay Concession Treaty, and the whole concession was called "Jiaozhou Bay" because of its scope.

Folk commonly known as "great happiness." 1899, the Kaiser ordered that the urban area of the concession be called Qingdao. 1929 The whole area is called Qingdao.

4. Xiangshan

A long time ago, there was a big white elephant in the sky, which was the mount of the jade emperor. Elephants always want to walk on the earth, but there are rules and regulations, and they can't get off the earth without permission.

An old man on the island saw the stranger and asked, "Where are you from? What's your name? " The elephant had a brainwave and replied, "My name is Xiang. I was fishing at sea, and the wind blew me here. " Seeing that all his clothes were worn out, the old man said, "Nong, you can stay in my room!" " There are only two old people in my family, and the customs are deserted. "

A Xiang said, "Then I will be your son!" The old man loved it and happily took A Xiang home. Xiang never wants to go back to the sky again.

One day in the sky, one year on earth. After a year and a half on earth, the private surrender of the elephant was known to the Jade Emperor. The jade emperor was furious and ordered the day to catch the elephant back. One night, A Xiang finished fishing and planned to go home. Suddenly, the sky thundered and lightning seemed to collapse. Knowing that it was not good, Xiang ran home at once.

Two old men saw him running in a panic and asked him what was wrong. A tearful, don't gossip. By this time, the day had already broken into the yard, and the two old people were stunned. The elephant ran to the seaside, looked back at two relatives, sighed and jumped into the sea. With a bang, a mountain rose from the sea, closely linking the mainland and the island to form a peninsula.

Later, when more people lived here, it was called "Xiangshan".

5. Penglai

A long time ago, there were three sacred mountains in the Bohai Sea, all of which were searched for nothing, with gold and silver as palaces, and the trees with dried pearls were all overgrown and tasty, and they could live forever after eating them. After Qin Shihuang unified the six countries, he came here to look for the holy mountain and the elixir of life for the sake of long-term stability and personal immortality.

Standing by the sea, he looked at the sea and saw a red light floating at the end of the sea. He asked the alchemist who was driving with him what it was, and the alchemist replied, "It's Fairy Island." Qin Shihuang was overjoyed and asked what the name of Xiandao was.

The alchemist couldn't answer for a moment, but suddenly he saw aquatic plants floating in the sea and had a brainwave, so he answered with the name of aquatic plants "Penglai". Penglai is also Artemisia Cao Peng. It is said that this is how Penglai got its name.
