How did the Yuan Dynasty create the Confucius Temple and imperial academy?
It was in 1222 that Wang Hui, an important official of the Yuan Dynasty Taizong Wokuotai, suggested to Wokuotai that the former site of the Privy Council, south of the capital of Jin State, be converted into a Confucius Temple, so that the release ceremony could be held there in spring and autumn. Yuan Taizong agreed with Wang Hui's suggestion. 1234, when the Yuan army was defeated, Wang Ming put forward this idea to Taizong Wokuotai, and suggested that Chinese studies should be established when building the Confucius Temple, which was approved by Yuan Taizong this time. 1266, after Kublai Khan ascended the throne, he immediately ordered the construction of the new capital of the Yuan Dynasty, and the location of the capital was chosen in the old capital of the Jin Dynasty, and appointed Minister Liu to be responsible for the overall planning of the new capital.

At that time, Yanjing had just settled down from the war, and Liu was the main designer of the Yuan Dynasty. Since then, the Confucius Temple in Beijing and imperial academy have been precisely planned.

After three years of preparation, in June of 1302, under the direct supervision and command of Halahas, the construction of Confucius Temple was officially started in Beijing.

He personally planned and pointed out the details of painting walls and cutting beams. 1August 306, the Confucius Temple was finally built in the planned position of Liu in Kublai Khan's period.

While building the capital Confucius Temple, Cheng Hewei, an imperial envoy, proposed to Yuan Chengzong that he hoped to build the imperial academy in the west of Confucius Temple according to the traditional regulation of "learning from the left temple". Yuan Chengzong readily agreed.
