Historical changes of RPD
194 1- 1945 During the Great Patriotic War, the Tigalev light machine gun accompanied the Soviet Red Army in every major military action and was praised by the soldiers, claiming to be the "nemesis" of the German MG42 machine gun. The German army renamed a large number of seized Jie gref light machine guns MGl20(r) and transferred them to the army of the servant country and the "Russian Liberation Army". However, compared with the advanced western European machine guns such as ZB-26, ZB-33J and MG42 captured on the battlefield, the DP light machine gun will change its performance due to the heat of the barrel after continuous shooting, which will affect the normal work of the weapon and is not suitable for waist shooting or sports shooting.

1944, the Soviet Union developed an improved version of Jaeger-Galev light machine gun, named DPM machine gun, which still used drum ammunition, but added a spring buffer at the back end of the shell, a thick-walled heavy barrel and a metal chain to shoot for a long time. Other variants of Jaeger-Galeev series light machine guns include DA aerial machine guns, DA-2 double-tube aerial machine guns, DT tank machine guns and DTM improved tank machine guns. The whole Jaggegalov light machine gun family was not eliminated until the 1950s.

1937 After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the Soviet Union provided arms loans to China for three consecutive times. In the second contracts signed by the two sides on March 1 1 and 1938, the Kuomintang government purchased 500 tokarev Ma Keqin and 1 100 Tingjie gref light machine guns from the Soviet Union, and the unit price of the former was the same. The unit price of the latter is $225, which is far lower than the international market price at that time. They promptly replenished the Japanese army which suffered heavy losses in the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895/937, and dealt a heavy blow to the Japanese invaders in the Wuhan General Assembly War which lasted for the whole period of 1938. According to Japanese journalists' recollection afterwards, the Soviet-made machine guns of the China Army were obviously more powerful than the old-fashioned machine guns used by the Japanese army.

1943, the Soviet union developed the M-43 type 7.62×39mm intermediate bomb, which was stimulated by the German equipment 7.92mm short bomb. In order to adapt to the new situation, Yegrev developed RPD light machine gun, which was formally equipped with Soviet troops after World War II to replace DP light machine gun. There are many improvements in guns, but the changes are not too great. RPD light machine gun is simple and compact in structure, light in weight and convenient to use and carry. The total gun mass (excluding magazine) is 7. 1kg, the gun rack mass is 0.52kg, the total gun length is 1037mm, the barrel length is 52 1mm, there are four right-handed rifling lines in it, and the fire line height is 330mm.
