According to the inquiry of China Red Cross Society in official website, China Red Cross Society was founded in 1904. Since its establishment, it has been engaged in activities to rescue refugees, injured soldiers and victims, actively trying to alleviate the suffering of people affected by wars and natural disasters, and participating in international humanitarian relief activities. As an important member of the unified Red Cross organization in People's Republic of China (PRC) and the International Red Cross Movement, the China Red Cross Society abides by the Constitution and laws, follows the principles of international humanitarianism, performs its statutory duties according to the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols to which China is a party, and plays the role of government assistant in the humanitarian field.
