The Historical Achievements of Zhou Wenwang and Zhou Wuwang
I think, first of all, culturally, the Zhouyi theory founded by Wang Wen is a supplement and theorization to Fuxi gossip, which promotes the integration of the two theories of Taiji gossip and has far-reaching influence. What we are talking about now is that five lines of gossip and the Eight Diagrams of Zhouyi are interlinked. Secondly, King Wen set an example for later Confucianism. The standard of a wise monarch is nothing more than soup, an ancient sage with few written records. After all, King Wu usurped the world of Shang Dynasty, which runs counter to the loyalty and patriotism advocated by Confucianism. Therefore, King Wen has naturally become the object of praise by Confucianism, and the benevolence and patriotism advocated by King Wen is exactly what Confucianism has always admired. As for the replacement of the Shang Dynasty by the Zhou Dynasty, it was only a normal change of dynasty and did not make any positive progress to society. Moreover, the feudal system promoted by the Zhou Dynasty was the fuse of chaos in the world. So I think King Wen's contribution is mainly cultural, not political.
