Is there a dynasty centered on Hunan in history?
Chu (907-95 1)

Chu, one of the ten countries in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, is also the only dynasty in Hunan history that was established with Hunan as the center. Known as "Machu" (southern Chu, Machu, Machu regime), with Changsha as its capital, it covers the whole of Hunan and parts of Guangdong, Guangxi and Guizhou. In 907, People's Republic of China (PRC) was founded, and in 95 1 year, Nantang (one of the ten countries) took advantage of the civil strife in Ma and Chu, and sent a general Bian Gao to lead the army into Hunan, occupied Changsha, and Chu died.

The founder of Chu State is Ma Yin. In 927 (the second year of Tiancheng), Ma Yin was officially conferred as the King of Chu in the later Tang Dynasty. Ma Yin followed the imperial system, changed Tanzhou to Changsha as the capital, built palaces in Changsha, and established a veritable independent kingdom, becoming one of the feudal separatist countries in the Five Dynasties 10.

In the heyday of Ma Chu, the jurisdiction was extremely broad. Among the 22 states, Wu 'an, Wuping and Jingjiang were appointed as our ambassadors, including the whole of Hunan, most of Guangxi, eastern Guizhou and part of northern Guangdong.

The Chu State established by Ma Yin had an important influence in Hunan history. Through the war, the separatist forces in Hunan were eliminated and Hunan and Hunan were unified. During the reign of Ma Chu, political policies such as "serving the emperor and comforting scholars", protecting the army at home and strengthening the vassal abroad were adopted, which enabled the people to obtain a relatively stable environment. Economically, measures such as building water conservancy, rewarding agriculture and mulberry, developing tea industry, promoting textiles and trading with the Central Plains have made the social economy develop rapidly.

In the early years of Chu's founding (907), Ma Yin adopted the policy of "respecting the king's war" by Gao Yu, a counselor, and paid tribute to the back beam as a servant to protect the environment. Zhu Wen worshipped him as a servant and named him the king of Chu; In 923, the back beam was replaced in the later Tang Dynasty. Ma Yin also sent his son to make a pilgrimage. In 927 (the second year of Tiancheng), Ma Yin was officially conferred as the King of Chu in the later Tang Dynasty. The main dynasties in the Central Plains also recognized the kingdom status of Chu. When Ma Yin died, he told his successor not to call it kingdom, but our times. At this point, the Machu regime lasted until 95 1 and was destroyed by the Southern Tang Dynasty.
