Since the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Ukraine could have relied on its own military and industrial base accumulated during the period of the second largest country in Europe and the former Soviet Union to vigorously develop its economy and gradually realize its dream of becoming a powerful country.

But strangely, after Ukraine left the Soviet Union, it ignored the historical reality of the differences between the east and the west in Ukraine and insisted on falling to the western camp. As a result, it became a battleground between Russia and the United States. Not only did Crimea fall to Russia, but it also led to civil war chaos in eastern Ukraine.

(Wudong Civil War)

Then, it was once an international taboo to attack from afar, but why did Ukraine make such a wrong judgment and make such an embarrassing situation?

As early as the 9th century, today's territories of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine all belonged to Kiev Ross, which was founded by Eastern Slavs. This is the earliest ancient civilization in the eastern European plain. During the reign of Archduke Vladimir and his son yaroslav, the population of the whole country reached more than 5 million, and its territory was unprecedented, making it the largest country in Europe at that time.

Kiev is located on the Dnieper River, also known as? City of kings? The common cultural foundation of Russia and eastern Ukraine was laid at that time.

In 998, Vladimir married Princess Anna of Byzantine Empire and believed in Christianity as the state religion. Now the double-headed eagle on the Russian national emblem comes from the Byzantine cultural symbol brought by the princess. So from Russia to today's Russia, Kiev Ross is regarded as the origin of Russian history.

Ukraine? This word, originally a geographical term for border areas, does not exist in Ukraine. 1654, Ukrainian Cossacks opposed Polish rule. When they launched the uprising, they turned to the Russian czar for help and expressed their willingness to belong to Russian leadership. With the support of tsarist Russia, today's eastern Ukraine, after Polish independence and a high degree of autonomy, signed the Bogdan? The Vitaliy Hmelnitski Basic Treaty, also known as the March Treaty, formally joined the Russian Federation.

In the18th century, most of the northern shore of the Black Sea and now western Ukraine also became Russian territory. Until 19 17, western Ukraine (East Galicia and West Warren) was occupied by Poland.

1922 When the Soviet Union was founded, eastern Ukraine joined the Soviet Union as one of the founding countries. Today's western Ukraine still belonged to Poland at that time.

When World War II broke out, Germany attacked Poland, and the Soviet Union invaded from the east, occupying the territory of western Belarus and western Ukraine. After Germany's defeat, the Soviet Union left western Belarus and western Ukraine in Russia permanently in exchange for the divided German territory and Poland, and merged western Ukraine and eastern Ukraine into one.

1954, Khrushchev, then the Supreme Soviet, announced at the reception of the 300th anniversary of the alliance between Russia and Ukraine that Crimea under Russian jurisdiction would be given to Ukraine as a gift.

After Gorbachev came to power, under the political infiltration of western countries, the deep historical and realistic contradictions in the Soviet Union began to erupt, nationalism and national independence began to sprout, and the entire national alliance was facing disintegration.

19911On February 8, Ukraine, Russia and Belarus signed the Belovezh Agreement in Minsk. The Soviet Union officially disintegrated, and Russia and Ukraine ended their 337-year alliance history. Later, Ukraine strongly urged Russia to move the Black Sea Fleet out of Crimea, Ukraine, but failed.

(Russian-Ukrainian Union)

It can be seen that Ukraine and Russia have an inseparable relationship in history. Ukraine in the traditional sense is actually the eastern part of Ukraine, which is clamoring to return to Russia today; Western Ukraine, which straddles the Dnieper River, is actually a newly incorporated Polish territory in modern wars.

Today's Ukraine is not the Ukraine of Russia in history. It is just a country forcibly pieced together in the process of external expansion of the former Soviet Union. The Soviet Union originally intended to turn Ukraine, the richest land in Eastern Europe, into an example of a federal republic that eliminated regional differences, ethnic and religious contradictions, so as to show the ideological integrity of the Soviet Union. But in doing so, the Soviet Union finally laid a hidden danger for the internal division of Ukraine.

It is precisely because of these historical reasons that there are great differences between the eastern and western parts of Ukraine in terms of nationality, religion and development concept. Under the dual pressure of Russia and the west, Ukraine adopted the strategy of completely westward advancing into Russia after the western Ukrainian forces came to power, which will naturally be countered by Ukraine in history. A real master? The people in eastern Ukraine strongly oppose it.

As a result, Ukraine not only failed to take refuge in Europe and America, but also forged enmity with Russia, lost the Crimean Peninsula, and the separatist situation in eastern Ukraine became more and more serious. Ukrainian politicians not only do not reflect on their own reasons, but also always shirk their responsibilities and accuse Russia of deceiving others too much.

In short, Ukraine's fantasy of leaving Russia and joining the western camp against Moscow can only face failure in the chaotic situation of internal and external troubles. In the end, we must take the initiative to show good to Russia in order to restore social and economic order. Otherwise, we can only suffer from chaos and usher in greater political turmoil.
