The first two ships of LNG project are COSCO Group, China Merchants Group, Guangdong Yuedian Asset Management Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Shipping Corporation, Australian Natural Gas Co., Ltd. and American Energy Transportation Group.

The LNG ship is a special ship for transporting liquefied gas at a low temperature of 162 degrees Celsius. It is a high-tech, high-difficulty and high-added product, and it is a kind of "super refrigerated truck at sea". At present, only the United States, Japan, South Korea and a few European countries can make it. The LNG tank to be built by CSSC has a volume of147,200m3, and the cargo tank type is GTNo.96E 2 film type, with a length of 292m, a ship width of 43.35m and a depth of 26.35m, and a design speed of 19.5 knots/hour. The first ship is scheduled to be delivered in June 2007, and the second ship is scheduled to be delivered in early 2008.
